 The 
                              Employee Shareholders Association of ING took part 
                              to the creation of the  
                              EFES - The European Federation of Employee Share 
                              Ownership. The EFES was born in 1998, an international 
                              conference being organised in Brussels with the 
                              participation of Belgian Prime Minister Jean-Luc 
                              Dehaene. The EFES Honorary President and the EFES 
                              Secretary General were former employee shareholders 
                              of ING. The EFES is now widely recognized as the 
                              European representative organisation of employee 
                              ownership. The EFES got a seat in the Committee 
                              for Enterprise Policy of the European Commission, 
                              being considered as a Business Representative Organisation. 
                              The EFES has some 150 member organisations in the 
                              European Union, representing some 117.500 companies 
                              with some 6.750.000 employees.
 EFES 
                              BELGIUM is the Belgian Chapter of the EFES. This 
                              new organisation was born in 2002. It is dedicated 
                              to the promotion and development of employee ownership 
                              and financial participation in Belgium. It works 
                              through a web platform on www.actionnariat-salarie.be
